Founder - Figures Up
I started my journey in accounting with some of Sri Lanka’s biggest conglomerates, learning the ins and outs of managing finances for large businesses. From there, I moved to Crossover for Work, a US-based multinational in the IT industry, where I got a front-row seat to the fast-paced world of global finance.
Then came a shift – I joined BrandWorks Consulting, a family-run branding and interior design business in Melbourne, as their Financial Controller. I was handling all things accounting, I loved the culture, and I kept seeing how amazing Australian small and medium businesses were pouring their heart into what they love. I saw first-hand the passion, creativity, and dedication that the business owners pour into their work. They lived and breathed their businesses, giving it everything they had.
But there was one thing holding many of them back – their finances.
I saw business owners working late nights, juggling operations, staff, and customer demands, all while trying to make sense of their numbers.
And that’s when it hit me 💡
What if I could take the financial load off their shoulders? What if I could help them make sense of their numbers so they could focus on what they love – growing their business?
That’s how Figures Up took shape.
Now, we’re a small but mighty team, passionate about helping small and medium Australian businesses succeed from behind the scenes. It’s been an incredible journey, and the best is yet to come!

Founder/ Managing Director
Piumal - ACA, MBA, BBA (Finance)
Piumal is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and an MBA. He is also a Certified Xero Advisor and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
With over 10 years of accounting experience, including working with Sri Lankan, Australian and US businesses, Piumal knows his way around the numbers. He started his career as an Accountant at premier conglomerates in Sri Lanka, then moved on to Crossover, a US-based multinational IT company. Later, he took on the role of Financial Controller at BrandWorks Consulting, a Melbourne-based Branding & Interior Design Company before stepping into his current role as Financial Controller at Biztech Lawyers, a Sydney-based Tech Law Firm.
When he’s not knee-deep in numbers, you’ll find him travelling, trying something adventurous, or strumming his ukulele.
Director
Christine - ACMA, CGMA, MBA, BBA (Finance)
Christine is an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (UK) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (UK) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and an MBA. She was awarded the MBA Graduate Award for Best Performance for the highest GPA. She is also a Certified Xero Advisor and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
With over 8 years of Treasury experience in Sri Lanka’s financial services industry, she has worked extensively in cash flow and liquidity management, working capital optimization, financial reporting, managing financial risks and corporate sales.
Outside of work, Christine is an avid traveller and food enthusiast who loves exploring new cuisines and sharing her experiences through travel writing.

Vihanga - BSc in Applied Accounting, Partly qualified in Chartered Accountancy
Vihanga holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting and is partly qualified in Chartered Accountancy. She is also a Certified Xero Advisor and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
With 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, she ensures that financial records are accurate, organized, and up to date.
Beyond numbers, she loves baking up sweet treats on the weekends and enjoys her favorite tunes.
Accounts Executive
Amoda - BBA (Accounting)
With a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, Amoda is all about keeping the numbers in check.
